We instill a love of life-long learning through child-directed, hands-on experiences... in our unique continuity of care setting!

Our Nursery School Program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of our youngest children from birth through age three.  Research tells us that children learn and grow best in an environment that fosters quality relationships, supports the individual development of each child, and minimizes transitions in a warm, home-like setting.  In our program, we all this and so much more!

Our program offers a continuity of care, mixed age group setting- ensuring that children remain with their primary teachers for their whole first three years of life!  It also offers diverse opportunities for our younger children to learn from older peers as role models for skills and behaviors, while allowing older toddlers to acquire leadership and care-giving skills themselves.

In addition to our supportive social-emotional program setting, children benefit from our rich Highscope inspired curriculum where children engage in hands-on, meaningful learning and are deeply involved throughout the entire process.  Teaching practices emphasize the role of the individual child in directing their own developmental process while offering a balance of teacher and child guided learning.  What's more, we believe in the power of natural play in the natural world... so expect to see us outside for large portions of our days!  Whether we are inside or out, children are further engaged in a variety of movement activities that nurture the body and spirit (such as tumbling, music, yoga, mindfulness/meditation, dance, sports skills and more)!

Our curriculum develops the needs of the whole child- Mind, Body, and Self.  Milestones met  in our program align with not only the NYS Early Learning Guidelines and Core Body of Knowledge, but also provide for the Health/Wellness, Social, Emotional, and developing Self-Concept needs of each individual child.  This way we can be sure that our children are not only prepared with pre-academic skills for future learning in Preschool... but also with the emotional regulation, social & communication skills, resilience, and problem solving techniques needed as the foundation for life-long success!
